Note for those of you with sensitive ears: These earrings are a bit heavier so if you are sensitive to the amount of weight your earrings usually have, I recommend to wear this pair for a shorter amount of hours - for example as a great accessory to step out of the crowd at a party, add a little bit od sparkle for your date night or make your friends jealous at a dinner party ;)

Care instructions

Most of the KAARET earrings are made from high quality surgical steel and glass beads. As the glass beads are much more fragile than other materials used for jewellery (such as different kinds of metal, plastic, wood etc.) please take an extra care while wearing and storing them as they can break or scratch very easily when handled without care. Please avoid any sharp or hard surfaces. I recommend to store the items in the original pouch they are supplied in, which is also perfect for travelling :)

To provide the best life for your earrings, please keep them away from water, moisture and apply your favourite perfume before putting them on.

Materials & origin

The KAARET 2020 collection of earrings is made from vintage, second hand and dead stock glass and plastic beads. The beads used in this collection have all been searched by me personally and come from different backgrounds.

Some of them I inherited after my relatives and families of their friends, where some of the beads are even 50 years+ old. Other beads come from selected second hand shops, charity shops or even dead stock inventory from vendors who have left their businesses a long time ago. And last but not least, some beads come from the factories in the north of Bohemia which are famous for the glass and beads production. They are from shops which are usually located in the fabrics and sell beads that wouldn't normally pass the standards to be placed on the market. While not always 100 % perfect, these beads are still beautiful and I am sure they don't deserve to be left alone so I decided to include them in the material I use and thus to give them a new life.

Please note that some of the beads are not 100 % perfect. Some might have a bit uneven shape, some might have a little disproportional coloring and even have a few bubbles or little scratches which you can see on the glass beads while examining it very, very closely. All this can be caused due to the origin of the beads described above.

When making each pair of KAARET earrings I always make sure to only pick the best beads I have available, but the idea of giving the second life to things that would in other circumstances just never been used is one of the core values which KAARET was built on.

To give your ears the best treatment possible, I have chosen to work with surgical steel components from one Czech company specializing on jewellery components  from surgical steel. Despite my search for a better and more sustainable alternative for these components continues, the hygienic standart is very important too.
